Grateful Girl Gathering

Gathering Studio

Create. Connect. Celebrate.

Step into the Gathering Studio, where creativity and community come together. Choose a hands-on experience designed to spark joy, encourage conversation, and create meaningful connections. Whether you’re painting, designing earrings, blending essential oils, or creating something new, you’ll leave with more than a handmade keepsake—you’ll leave with new friendships and memories to cherish.

These breakout sessions are presented by creative leaders in their field and offer our attendees a fun time of learning something new and fellowshipping with fellow attendees.

Each attendee can choose one DIY session that interests them when they register for the conference. (Tip: Register early to make sure you get your first choice, but no worries if you don’t! They are all great!)

Create An Oil Roller Learning Practical Uses For Oils of the Bible

Essential oils and aromatic resins hold a deeply significant place in scripture, appearing hundreds of times throughout the Bible. In Kendall’s DIY session, you will have the opportunity to learn about the health benefits and spiritual symbolism of these oils. You will also be creating a one-of-a-kind perfume roller using your favorite oils from the session.

Hello! I am Kendall Chandler, owner of a small, local soap shop called The Quill and Honey. I was born and raised in Candler, NC and was
blessed to grow up in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. My parents and large extended family instilled a love in me
for mountain heritage, mountain music, loving your neighbor and most importantly, loving Jesus.

After almost 20 years as a public school teacher, the Lord has led my husband and I to expand our small business and open up a storefront on
Main Street in Mars Hill in fall of 2022. We are beyond grateful for this opportunity and pray it is a blessing to our community.

God Sees Us Floral Mirror

Create a beautiful layered wood mirror inspired by this year’s theme, “A God Who Sees Us.”

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll paint and assemble a stunning floral and butterfly mirror featuring the engraved reminder, “God Sees Us.” You’ll learn simple painting and finishing techniques while creating a meaningful piece of home décor that serves as a daily reminder that you are fully seen, deeply known, and greatly loved by God.

No experience is necessary—I’ll guide you every step of the way, making this a relaxing, encouraging, and creative experience. You’ll leave with a finished project ready to display in your home or give as a heartfelt gift.

“Every time you look in the mirror, remember that the God who created you also sees you, knows you, and loves you exactly as you are.”

m so excited to be returning as a DIY presenter for this year’s Grateful Girl Gathering!

I’m DeAnna, owner of The Bougie Brush in Burnsville, NC, where creativity and community come together. My passion is helping people discover that they are far more creative than they think. Whether we’re painting, crafting, making slime, creating custom hats, or tackling a new DIY project, my goal is always the same—to create a fun, welcoming space where everyone can leave feeling encouraged and accomplished.

One of my favorite things is watching someone say, “I could never do that,” and then seeing the smile on their face when they realize they absolutely can.

I can’t wait to spend time creating with all of you again this year!

Clay Earrings

In this fun session, attendees will create a pair of handcrafted clay earrings with Maria from Dainty Dogwood Boutique to take home and enjoy!

In this DIY workshop, we’ll create beautiful and unique clay earrings while reflecting on how the Lord uses everything for His glory. We will learn like God showed Jeremiah, that nothing is wasted. Jeremiah 18:1-6 NIV

We are Stephanie and Maria, two Carolina Army veterans who met in the service—completely orchestrated by God. In a setting where we were often the most feminine in the room, we longed for a creative outlet that felt beautiful and life-giving.

In 2019, we walked into a small boutique and saw the cutest earrings. We thought, “We can make those!” We didn’t even know what they were made of. Shortly after, we gave it our best effort, and they were honestly… not great. What we didn’t know was that we didn’t have the right tools and we didn’t realize an underlying truth: clay can be reshaped and repurposed.

Side note: we saved those first pieces to remind us how our journey started, and displayed them at every event. We laughed at our poor attempt and moved on. Then COVID happened. Suddenly, it felt like we had infinite time, so we committed to learning and refining the craft. That’s when Dainty Dogwood was born.

Our business became a way to connect with other women, create together, and enjoy something both meaningful and affordable. One of our favorite things about working with clay was this: nothing went to waste. Every mistake could be turned into something beautiful. One thing we learned was that a piece of clay created months before that didn’t quite fit suddenly completed a new thing.

We spent seasons doing local markets and experienced so much joy during the clay earring boom. Eventually, life shifted, and we stepped away from the business. But we’ve come to see that this season has purpose too.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV

Now, this craft can be used as a ministry tool creating space for women and girls to gather, create, and be reminded of God’s beautiful handiwork in both His Word and His creation.

We can’t wait to gather with you for this workshop! No prior skills needed. Just come and create.

Gathering Circle

Gather. Grow. Go Deeper.

The Gathering Circle is an intimate time of conversation, Bible study, and encouragement led by one of our conference speakers. Together you’ll explore Scripture more deeply, unpack the session message, ask questions, and discover practical ways to apply God’s Word to everyday life. It’s a space where faith grows, friendships deepen, and every woman has a seat at the table.
